Koh Poi Waterfall

Rough nature, creeks and jungle.

This is a piece of great nature close to the Thai border, the Koh Poi Waterfall burst over the limestone rapids in an optical spectacle. Pure nature, no people around just a pleasant view. The day trip to this place is with a small boat, this plastic boat has an outboard engine is real speedy, it jumps over the waves and bangs down real hard.

Hire the boat for around $ 30,- to 40,- if you do this trip make sure to take a bigger boat with a cover on top. If there is no cover a bad sunburn the day after is the result.

Along the waterway is some work going on, barges move goods upstream and bring down raw material. The area is real beautiful just as it would have popped out from a Joseph Conrad book.
Koh Poi Creek

A few cottages are along the creek.

They show that some tourism attempts are made but everything is low key. Again we have the wrong classification this is not a waterfall, this are rapids. This place is for people who really want to get away in a great pristine nature. Since it is very close to the Thai border at Trat and Koh Chang it's a good day trip destination. Since the beaches of the South China Sea are also within an hour drive with the scooter there is something to do around here.

Tatai Waterfall
Tatai Waterfall
Tatai waterfall is actually some pretty rapids, they call this all the same which can lead to misunderstanding. It's a beautiful scenery, it's possible to swim around there above and below. Obviously the day before there was a party there and the people just dropped  the whole trash instead of collecting it and throw it in a container, read more.
